WoW Upgrades - The
item upgrader mod Upgrader
Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level upgrade (
website) level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of
item upgrader kit upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the
item upgrader kit and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less even if they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's
Best item upgrader to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
