If you're looking to save money and don't want a stroller that can double up as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.
It's easy to push, and it feels solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Additionally, it's easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the most stroller that is light, ideal for urban dwellers as well as jet-setters. This is due to its nimble maneuverability and fold-down design that can be incorporated into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all 4 wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to perfectly traverse all types and terrains'.
The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft elegant design. The frame's weight alone is just over a kilogram and is so light you can easily lift it out of the box (and do it using one hand).
It's also easy to add or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable at 30 degrees to help deter staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents seeking a stroller that is versatile. The Evenflo Xplore can be converted from a stroller to an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then select which one is the best fit for their needs. The wagon can accommodate two or three children ranging from 6 months to 5 years old. It comes with a large storage basket that will hold all your needs when you are on the move.
The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from front to back, providing ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell, which is not as large or deep as other wagons, so it might not be comfortable for longer trips or napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, but it does not flex as much as some other wagons that we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the other models and it doesn't lock tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver, though, and it can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side
This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to move into a car trunk or closet. It also features an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and cup holders for the parent. Other features worth mentioning include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree front wheels that absorb shock.
In our test of push and turn, it did better than many of the other strollers of a similar price we tested, but it's still not the most comfortable to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.
It took us under 3 minutes to put together the Delta with a manual. All of the components required tools. But, it's lacking certain essential features we believe you should not compromise on for a double stroller like a large basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair and is marketed as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to carry babies from birth to approximately 3.5 years, converting easily between a seat and a carrycot by just a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the
lightweight single stroller Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.
The seat can be reclined using one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. This compact pushchair can handle everyday bumps and doorways easily.
The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or let them swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along a stony path. It handled the situation well, although it seemed a little rougher.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2
Baby Jogger is known for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler jogging pushchairs, but they also have a wide range of 4-wheeler strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.
It's heavier than other strollers that we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels sturdy and well-made. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain. It's easy to move even with two kids and shopping bags.
Both the carrycot and seat have hoods that can be lowered to reveal the UV50and sun canopy extension. They are waterproof and strong, unlike some other pram hoods that get bounced back into toddlers' faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, however it does have a large basket that's deep enough for a changing bag as well as plenty of food items. You can also connect it with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for infants up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you require a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a lot of parents when it first came out. It's a stroller made of aluminum that can be used from infant's earliest days through. It is a standout model with many unique features, including the ability of the seat to be flipped between the front facing parent and the outside and a huge UPF50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.
The chassis comes with a suspension system built-in which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed of tough foam, which reduces punctures. It was easy to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the vehicle through narrow streets.
It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be folded and repositioned for easy transport down the stairs, or in the car's boot. The travel system is also available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are simple to use using a single action colored and flip-flop compatible.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget pushchair is easy to use and has a great dual suspension. It folds using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also extremely light and durable. The seat is reclined in many positions and is equipped with a double breathable mattress that's suitable for babies from birth.
The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.
The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be set up to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to a maximum of 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be facing each other or turn around and face parents, theoretically decreasing sibling fights over who gets to sit with mom and dad. It has a huge gear tray, bottle holder snack tray, and a change mat. It also has an automatic frame lock and a compact fold.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who like to stay active. It's one of the lightest strollers you can get for your child and offers great safety features like a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It also comes with a twist hand brake which is different from the lever type found on competing models.
The seat is padded and provides plenty of space to sit. However, the seat depth is less than that of other runners (it's just about 10 inches") The storage bin has a zippered cover to help keep things secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats as it comes, but you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands like BOB, Graco,
combi single stroller, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It is easy to fold and put together in just 5-10 minutes with no tools. The instruction manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
