The
Best Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. Some have great mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through an efficient.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and works well, but this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful
robotic cleaner and mop with a range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen odors.
Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
The device comes with a high price tag but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated, but they do mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting hair of pets. It was able capture a lot of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was starting or completing its task.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which can be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot
best automatic vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning or recall the
robot vacuums that mop or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other
robotic hoovers vacuums, uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
