Robots That Vacuum and MopRobots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the
best automatic vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular
robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the
robot vacuum cleaners best back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40
robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market, but it packs in numerous extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
