4. Thule Shine
The Shine stroller comes from a brand that is known for its innovative, stylish products. It's among the lightest strollers on market, and feels solid and robust in your hands despite its simple design. It is also extremely versatile and can be used as a bassinet, or Newborn Inlay from birth, as well as an Maxi Cosi car adapter.
Unlike some other lightweight prams that are lighter, the Shine does not disappoint when it comes to cargo storage, either. Its 22-pound capacity allows you to carry everything you require for a trip without having to leave anything behind.
The wheels are easy to attach to the frame. They simply clip on from the box. If you choose to purchase the optional bassinet the frame snaps on with ease and comes with carry handles similar to those of a Moses basket. The pram folds down to a compact and tidy size, meaning it can be tucked away in the smallest cars.
Thule's air purifier canopy is an eye-catcher also, as it has a built-in fan that filters the air you breathe to remove pollen, bacteria, viruses and other contaminants. The company claims that it can filter 150l per minute of air and can be connected to an app which shows the air quality in the area.
The only downside is the cost. Although it's cheaper than some other 2-in-1 prams, a complete kit still costs more than PS1,000. That's especially hard to swallow when you have alternatives such as Thule Spring. Thule Spring which is lighter and more compact and costs less than half as much.
The durability of Thule's strollers is legendary, and I've seen them tested at the Thule Hillerstop headquarters in Sweden. They drop prams from high places and then crash them down slopes and ride them across a bumpy buggy track in the snow to test their performance and endurance. They certainly look nice!
