The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic hoovers vacuums that we have tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm is perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units, this robot automatic vacuum and mop and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however it's more expensive and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the home based on how dirty the areas are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good robot vacuum option. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also gives access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin to empty.533463847_0jSRx4bn_f4f3741108cae8040071186664471cd5116703e8.jpg
