The
Best Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a
robot cleaner with mop vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options on this list making it easier to navigate into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through a clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and works well however, this is something you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and effectively. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan map that it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able capture the majority of hair that shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was beginning or completing its task.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus
robot vacuum best is a excellent choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base also has a number of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or use the dock's
automatic hoover emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking
robot vacuum cleaner best, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
