WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the
upgrade items will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an
item upgrades has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if those items are from a different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrade -
Recommended Studying, level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the
item upgrading, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the
Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
