The
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK Robot Hoover
The
best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detector) are positives.
Check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They feature motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they employ intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and operates while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the
best robot vacuum and mop robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job cleaning a range of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxes This
robot cleaner vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the sole
best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your
robot hoover and mop vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
