Robots That Vacuum and MopRobots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and also vacuums well. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the
robot vacuum best is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will show you exactly what the
robot vacuum cleaners uk completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that need to be done including emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also allows the
robot hoover and mop to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
