The Best
Robot Vacuum That MopsNoah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.
The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will affect the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It is important to note, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every one to three months.
This
robot cleaner vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The
vacuum mop cleaner robot also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able capture some of the hair that our cats shed, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots have struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.
The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a
good robot vacuum choice for people who want an intelligent robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinct features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base has a few control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
