WoW
Item UpgradesItem upgrades--more commonly known as "upping"--are items and enchantments that can be incorporated into armor and weapons to boost their effectiveness. These upgrade components add a number of points to a level gauge for the
item level upgrade, with the cost increasing with their rarity.
A perfectly made version of this armor is highly prized in the melee PvP community due to its ability to minimize the damage caused by weapons.
Type-restricted upgrades
The process of upgrading is an essential aspect of the crafting process. Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, make it stronger or provide an additional benefit. They also affect the appearance of the item. Some upgrades are universal while others have specific rules for armor and weapons. A bad upgrade can destroy an item that is otherwise excellent, and could even render it unusable.
As a general rule, you can only upgrade the equipment you have to the level of its top-level counterpart. This means that you are able to upgrade body armors, helms, shields and gloves to the same level as their highest-level counterparts. Weapons however can be upgraded to the level of a sword. However, this doesn't increase the weapon's damage output, but can decrease its trade value.
You can upgrade an item by using crests or flightstones. The amount of both depend on the item level and slot. Upgrades to swords, for instance, will cost more flightstones than upgrading an cloak. You may also get discounts on the number flightstones or crests needed to upgrade an item.
When you upgrade an item, it fills its diamond-shaped indicator. Each step raises Tier level by one-third. The highest level of Tier is Tier 3. Based on the item it will take a different number of upgrades to get to this point. It is important to remember that any procedure that could mount a disk should not be performed while upgrading. In addition, you need to ensure that the upgraded disk is not being used as a system disk.
Enchantment is a function that lets you transform white or Common items into rare or blue ones. It can be done at Eleanor's enchantment shop located in the Capital District. This process does NOT add a gem or rune slot to the equipment. However, it does change its dimensions. It makes the equipment larger by two categories smaller. For instance an example, a Stormtrooper armor is Medium and Blaster Pistol Small.
Universal upgrades
Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be applied to any kind of equipment. This includes weapons, armor and trinkets. Upgrade components are available through Side Quests or random drops. Universal upgrades can be temporary or permanent, and they can overlap with Power-Ups. They may be linear or branching.
Universal Upgrades begin when "internal technology" can provide sentient beings new capabilities that they are not likely to develop naturally. Examples of internal technology are implants or prostheses. This type of upgrade is not the same as medical internal technology, which aims to restore the capabilities of nature. Instead, it is the beginning of an upgrade process that transforms civilizations in a fundamentally different way. The universal upgrade is a complex procedure that can take a long time to complete. The process can be classified in two categories that are complete success and partial failure.
It's similar to the way resort upgrades are implemented at Disney and Universal. In the case of WDW, they usually happen due to operational reasons such as room availability or overbooking. In the case of Universal the reason could be to transfer guests from one resort to another that is open. This is not intended to be a mean-spirited thing but it is something that can be necessary in the current environment.
Unlike Runes, Sigils and Jewels that are only applicable to specific kinds of equipment (armor, weapons or trinkets) universal upgrades can be applied to any gear. They can also be applied to multiple items at the same time. They are therefore more versatile than any other upgrade type. This flexibility can be problematic when upgrading items on a particular gear route. It can raise the
item upgrade levels of all pieces along that route.
Prior to performing an upgrade, it is essential to stop the PowerShell Universal service and delete the existing application files. After that you can install new files by using the GetChildItem-Recurse command, or Unblock-File. To make sure that your PSU server is operating properly, you should also perform an initial validation.
Jewels
Jewels are upgrades that can be inserted into armor, weapons and other accessories. The reagents and gems that are used to make them can give different stat bonuses and secondary effect. They are found in Golden Chests and Rift Incursions. They can also be purchased from a master craftsman for gold or karma. Jewels can be crafted using a jewelry table using five of the same type of reagent and 1 gem to create an item with a higher or lower tier. This is similar to upgrading a stone on an instrument for gem crafting.
Jewel tiers are determined by the number of modifiers they possess. Jewels with higher tiers have more modifiers than lower-tier jewels. The primary effect of a gemstone is determined by the tier it's and the secondary effect is randomized players can use luck potions to increase the probability of obtaining better secondary effects.
Jewels can also be added to objects with sockets that match, just like other upgrade components. For instance, a Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both provide a bonus to strength, but the Garnet Pebble will only increase the number of hits that are regular, while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's powerful attacks. Jewels can be placed in every level of armor, weapon and accessory slots, and some trinkets with exotic or lower rarity that require a slot that is not used.
Gems are a DM-specific mechanism that helps to make items feel special to their owners. Through offering a variety of different upgrade paths gems let players customize their equipment and find the
Best item upgrade combination for their needs. They can also upgrade their existing equipment with new jewels if the original set of a particular model is no longer suitable.
Requirements
WoW's item upgrades allow players to upgrade the levels of their weapons, set pieces of equipment and trinkets over their current level of items from specific Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor sources. These upgrades boost the stats of the base item, and some have special effects (such as Dolphin's Grace which allows players to feel like dolphins while they swim). These upgrades can be obtained at any upgrader NPC, or by rescuing them from items that contain them, with a variety of items dropping different upgrade components.
The upgrade process is somewhat complicated, but it's simple. The player selects the item that he would like to upgrade and then clicks the Upgrade button. A window will open with the various upgrades available for this
item upgrade. The window will display the upgrade level, any upgrade type bonus (such as Tech Points or Quality Chance), and the cost of the upgrade. The upgrade level is shown in an upper bar on the top of the screen, and the bonus type for upgrades is shown below it.
If the player chooses to upgrade the item, the item will be delivered to the upgrader NPC, who will explain the process of upgrading the item. The player then has to provide the proper currency for that upgrade, and could be asked to provide additional materials when needed. These requirements are based on the level of manufacture, with weapons typically having higher requirements than armor.
Many upgrade recipes contain the list of acceptable material in addition to the components required. This list shows what other upgrade components can be used on the
item upgrader kit, as well as a flag indicating whether that item is guaranteed to boost or other effect. This is important as the value of an upgrade can differ greatly based on its 'extras. For instance, perfectly rolled gear can be worth more than the non-upgraded version.
For upgrades that require crests and valorstones, they will be displayed in a separate listing below the main list. The number of crests and the valorstones required depends on the level of the item. Weapon upgrades require the most Valorstones.
