best automatic vacuum cleaner robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can work when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.
It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this
robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some extra cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end
robot vacuum uk vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart
robot vacuums uk utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.
For bigger homes it's recommended to choose one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
