He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through cleaning.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and works well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and also find furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce the odors.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will affect how quickly the device can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

The device has a high price tag but is packed with a wide array of smart features. However, it's important to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three month.

This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were lovely jingles that inform you that it was starting and working towards its goal.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic cleaner and mop vacuum that is able to mop in our review, however it also has unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock which serves as the robot vacuums that Mop's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two of the buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
