The
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK Robot Hoover
The Best robot hoover (
www.Maanation.com) can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.
Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large particles and clean them as needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be replaced with a wet one in seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.
It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as some area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-
cleaning robot mop and vacuum mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the
best robot cleaner robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.
If you have a larger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a lot furniture. Also, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other
robot vacuum that mops vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also comes with an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
