The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum and mop robot automatic hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin in the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our top option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and automatic vacuum and mop robot combo uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to tell the robot Vacuum cleaner which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.533463880_7yNJO106_483ff84feb6f6eb0d3307be245e88ff4d66da436.jpg
