The
best robot vacuum cleaner and mop Robot Hoover
The
best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detectors) are positives.
Be sure to inspect your robot's brushes for hair tangled as well as large debris and wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an
automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the
Best robot vacuum uk robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the home based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the
robot vacuum best of which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It's a pro at vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top
robot vacuum that mops vacuums we have test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
