WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrade upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with some new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if those items come from a different set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can make use of Flightstones that are a common upgrade currency that is accessible to everyone players, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades on specific item levels. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item Upgrade upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
