Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular
robot vacuum cleaner mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other
robotic cleaner and mop cleaners may overlook.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40
robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice addition that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available however, it comes with many additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other
robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a plethora of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
