World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of an item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player upgrades an item upgrader mod the original item is replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can increase in price even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins).
