The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a
robot vacuum with mop vacuum that also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other options which makes it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a
robot vacuum reviews vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects like books and broken toys.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install and works well. However should you purchase this
robot vacuums that mop vacuum for mopping you must be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surface areas. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it must make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to remember that it carries regular costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is a top Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. This includes a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants an organized home that doesn't require hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair from pets. It was able capture a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finished its work.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a
good robot vacuum option for those who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an
automatic hoover 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets caught in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy units.
