The
best automatic vacuum cleaner Robot Hoover
The
best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.
Check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the
best rated robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only
robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range
robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas are.
For larger homes, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Also a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot
automatic vacuum cleaner and mop continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
