WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader kit upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrades is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item upgrader kit. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will be less expensive, even if they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific Item Level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
