A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet for babies, is positioned next to your bed to ensure you can be able to take care of your baby during night feedings and nappy-changings, without having to leave your bed. These cribs are great for helping to build independence for your child as they become more comfortable in their own bed.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide crib is an ideal
bedside travel cot crib that allows parents to rest with their baby while ensuring they are sleeping safely. Its smooth gliding motion helps to ease your baby back to sleep, and its ingenuous features allow you to keep an eye on them without leaving your own bed.
The sliding side panel of the cot can be raised and lowered with a simple pressing of a button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying
baby bedside co sleeper in the night. It comes with 11 height adjustments to accommodate almost any mattress size and adjustable folding feet that ensure it's at the right level.
The cot is padded, features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made from high-density foam for extra protection. It's also able to be cleaned so that you can keep it clean. It also comes with a fitted sheet that is suitable for use with the cot.
Unlike some other
bedside baby bed cribs like the Roomie Glide is suitable for most beds, including divans thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib if it isn't attached to the bed. It has many amazing features that were designed with baby and parent bonding in mind.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is great for newborns, it won't last long once your baby turns six months old, so you will have to purchase an additional cot. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a excellent purchase and she was particularly impressed by its elegant design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna felt was a reasonable price for a cot featuring such innovative features. She also liked how it was positioned in the bedroom and believed that the grey shade would suit most modern homes. However, she did point that it's not a great idea to rock a smaller baby as it could set a bad habit for later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to give you a good night's rest. It has a drop-side rail that is able to be easily adjusted to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or forcing them out of the bed. This is great for mothers who breastfeed! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or when traveling.
We love that it's constructed of soft fabrics with mesh sides that breathe, which aids in airflow and ease of use. It's available in oak and charcoal, with a range of melange fabrics that work well with a variety of decor styles. Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure once attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured to ensure safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video or support contact number should you have any issues.
The CoZee crib is equipped with all the features you would expect from a crib to your bed, including the ability to attach it to your bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. In addition there is an inclined feature that can be used to aid babies suffering from reflux or congestion. It's also machine washable, a must for all the dribbles, vomit and snot that comes with having a baby!
The CoZee is a fantastic option if you want to keep your child close during their first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a cot, changing station and toddler bed. It can even be converted into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it won't feed your baby or magically make them sleep, it will rock them to send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's more expensive options, but it has a wide array of features. It's designed to be used as a side sleeper or standalone crib, and is suitable from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is simple to use, even for one-handed operation. It is also more adjustable than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings and legs that retract to place under any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides, which can be moved up and down at the touch of one button. This was particularly helpful in the evening when feeding time was over, since they could reach in and pick their
baby bedside co sleeper up without disturbing them.
It is possible to lower the side panel by itself, but this isn't recommended, as it increases the risk that your child could fall out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism means that it can only stay down when attached to the parent's bed correctly. This feature is great for peace of mind if you're breastfeeding and require frequent feedings at night.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be compatible with any bed that is divan-based as well as beds with drawers, thanks to the legs that telescopic. It also has an option to tilt for reflux babies and a rocking feature to soothe them back to sleep after eating. It is also very large and offers excellent ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's easily moved from one room to another. It's small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use, which is an advantage if you need to transport it. The only thing our testers have found is that the side panel didn't flex as much compared to other models. This made it a little harder to see the baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is an excellent choice when you're looking for an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a crib for co-sleeping that is securely attached to your bed and can be transformed into a chic cot when your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and enhancing the bond you have with your newborn.
Unlike some other cribs for bed The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The dual-view mesh side panels and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline can help to reduce colic and reflux while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby during the night.
The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you require to get started. It took us around an hour to construct and was relatively easy to put together. The only issue was the lack of captions in writing on a few images which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. Overall, it was an easy procedure and the quality of materials employed was of a high standard.
In the co-sleeping position, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section as it allows them to easily reach out to their infant to feed and comfort them without having to climb out of their bed. It's ideal for parents who don't want the stress of putting their child in a traditional cot, or getting out of it.
The motion of gliding was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep following meals at midday or night. The drop-down side can be accessible to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night this was a huge benefit for our exhausted test mothers. The Joie Roomie Glide is a elegant and practical crib that doesn't rock nor has extra features like an audio system.
