Evolution Korea
In the past, the Korean scientific community resisted engaging with the creationists out of fear of giving the movement more credence. Silence is no longer a viable option.
The STR has been fighting to remove content from textbooks that describe evolution, including the discovery of the feathered dinosaur Archaeopteryx as an early bird's ancestor. This is only one aspect of the development paradigm's evolution.
What is Evolution?
Evolution is a scientific theory that explains the change in the genetic characteristics of living organisms over time. The theory is based on the fact that living organisms adapt to their environments, which can cause variations in genes, or even entire genomes. Over many generations the changes could lead to the emergence new species. The most popular theory of evolution is known as natural selection, 무료

Gitlab.Edebe.Com.Br) which describes the process that allows those with favorable characteristics live and reproduce more frequently than those with disadvantages. In time, this disparity in reproduction could lead to the emergence of completely new species.
The word "evolution" originates from Latin for

Some early evolutionists, including Jean Baptiste de Lamarck and Erasmus Darwin (Charles's grandfather), believed that existing species changed into other species in a predetermined fashion. Etienne Geoffroy St.Hilaire was Lamarck's embryologist pupil who came up with the term "transmutation" to describe this theory. Charles Lyell, in his Principles of Geology, published in 1833, challenged the idea of evolution and borrowed the term from Geoffroy’s student.
Evolutionary biologists define it more recently as a process through which living things develop characteristics that increase their chances of survival or conceiving offspring. In time, genetic variation can lead a population to acquire new physical traits or biological functions. This change in gene frequencies is known as natural selection and it is the main driver of evolutionary changes. Non-genetic changes, such as an increase in muscle mass from exercise or diet, cannot be considered evolution because they aren't passed on to the next generation.
Despite the fact that evolution has withstood the test of time and thousands of scientific tests, creationists have seized on the notion that the theory is controversial to claim that it shouldn't be taught in schools. In South Korea, creationists have gained a few victories in their fight to remove evolution from textbooks for high school, including the removal of any references to the evolutionary roots of humans, as well as the Archaeopteryx feathered dinosaur that is thought to be an ancestral bird's ancestor.
Why is Evolution Important?
Evolution explains how the Earth and all its living species evolved. It is also a fundamental part of biology that helps scientists understand how living organisms work and develop. Evolution also reveals the relationships between different species. Scientists study evolution to better understand the natural world and to make useful discoveries, such as developing new drugs.
The evidence for evolution of biological species is overwhelming. There is no other scientific theory that explains as much about the universe as the life on this planet. It has been rigorously scrutinized and confirmed for a number of years. Many people, including some religious leaders, support the scientific theory of evolution. It is important to remember that evolutionary biology does not contradict religious beliefs because it only deals with physical objects, events, and processes.
Many religious people have discovered a way to reconcile evolution with their convictions. Some Christians, for example, believe that God created everything through evolution, and that humans share a common ancestry to other animals.
It is important for science educators to advocate for the teaching of evolution. Unfortunately, in some countries around the world,
에볼루션게이밍 anti-evolution sentiment is growing. In the United States, efforts to limit the teaching of evolution have made headway in a few states. In South Korea, a group known as the Society for Textbook Revise, an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research (KAC) is a campaign for textbooks that cover the evolution of horses and their ancestral avian species Archaeopteryx.
It is crucial to keep in mind that the evidence in favor of evolution is overwhelming. The evidence for evolution is based on a variety of sources, such as fossils, genetics, and the behavior of living creatures. Other scientists independently verify the evidence.
The majority of scientists agree with the theory of evolution. This belief is based on a variety of reasons. Some scientists study evolution in order to make practical discoveries such as developing new medicines and other treatments, while others use it to improve animal and plants species, typically to benefit humans. Some scientists are simply curious, whereas others have a strong religious belief in God.
What is Creationism?
Creationists are people who believe that God created the universe and everything in it. They also believe the Bible is God's word and should be interpreted in a literal manner. Although not all creationists are Christian but they are a majority. Creationists typically fall into one of two categories: Young Earth creationists (YEC) and old earth creationists (OEC).
The YECs are the best known type of creationist, and they believe that God created the universe in the exact way described in the Bible. They believe that the biblical account of the six days of creation was literal and that the universe and life on Earth were created only recently.
OECs are less well known however they are just as enthusiastic about their beliefs as YECs. OECs believe that the universe and all life on Earth are billions of years old and that evolution is a myth.
Both types of creationism reject the scientific theories that biogenesis and natural selection can explain how life began on Earth. They assert that evolution is not possible because it would require miracles. The pioneers of modern scientific thought resisted miracles in fear that they would lose their credibility.
Some creationists believe in naturalistic evolution and special creation, and refer to their belief as "theistic evolution." This is sometimes also called "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the created species." The theory suggests that God creates the original species and allows them to evolve over time. Eventually, these evolutionary changes will result in new species identical to the original species.
Other creationists hold that God created the universe and all living things during a single event, referred to as the Great Flood. These creationists hold that all the species of the beginning were created at the same moment and then slowly evolved. They deny the notion of abiogenesis and claim that self-replicating living cannot come from nonliving matter.
In general, the creationists oppose teaching evolution at schools. This position is supported by numerous professional organizations such as the National Science Teachers Association, the Association for Science Teacher Education and the American Anthropological Association, and the Geological Society of America. However, certain academic institutions and scientists are more flexible, and allow for the inclusion of both evolution and creationism in their curricula.
What is Creationism?
When people think of creationism, they often think of the United States. However, South Korea is also home to an anti-evolution movement. The publishers of high school textbooks have recently announced that they will remove references to evolution from their books. A group called the Society for Textbook Revise (STR), an independent body that is an offshoot of the Korea Association for Creation Research which is the driving force behind the campaign. STR has secured its first victory in eliminating instances of the evolution of the horse as well as an avian ancestor called the Archeopteryx from textbooks. Its next target is to remove portions of Darwin's notorious finch-research and also on human evolution.
STR claims that it has the support of 4,000 families and members. Its goal is to weed out what it regards as the "atheist materialism" that reflects a hopeless worldview for students. It also hopes to combat the influence of American creationists in the country. A survey of students in biology found that half did not believe in evolution. The root causes are unclear but could be due to religion and the absence of full-time creation scientists across the country.
The KACR accomplished a number of things through its seminars and lectures in the past. It publishes a bimonthly news magazine, Creation, and has published books. One of these was a textbook on natural sciences with a cosmological perspective. It sparked interest in college communities. In 1991 an academic and minister began teaching Creation Science in one university, and it is taught to this day.
On August 7 and 8 the 7th of August 1993, which coincided with the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from outside the country, including ICR's John Morris and Steven Austin addressed a crowd of more than a thousand. KACR and 에볼루션 게이밍 (
