Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on various floor types. Choose models that allow you to choose between multiple modes, self-empty and clean stairs.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which comprises flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile and a large rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without crashing into them, and was able to cross thresholds for rooms that are raised without problem, but it sometimes was unable to navigate down stairs in a single move. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and raised itself when it was near carpets or rug.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills the water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough water for around twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. For this, you'll need to wash the dirty water tank regularly to avoid it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic cleaner and mop mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option for your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8700Pa of suction power and comes with many advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and eliminates obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as required.
This robot combo is easy to setup and use, and has a clear interface that walks you through the procedure. It also includes a hand vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are two water tanks that can be automatically filled or empty. It also comes with a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction which can effortlessly remove dust and debris that other robots have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are solid as well, though it does sometimes get hung up on the tiny rug or area mats I have in my home (which is something you can control by creating a virtual boundary within the app). Its mopping is quite good as well, with a pair of spin mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops can be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation whenever needed. The mops are also refilled at the top of the station if required.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new flagship robot hoover vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender for our best robot hoover mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush ensure a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our tests' most soiled areas efficiently, while eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other dirt. The sweeping power of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that run across baseboards.
Its navigation is smart, navigating tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It is able to move from one room to another without having to change direction. The Q5 was among the few robots that we tested to not have problems with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it could not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't surprising, since it does NOT include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that lets it reach corners and tight places that other vacuums are unable to. It also stores dust in a larger bin that means you have to empty it less often. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters that further lower the costs associated with using the device. This robot can also detect carpets and boost the suction if required. The app also lets you to mark areas that you want it to avoid, which is a nice feature.
